Arms Spread Apart

This image is a great symbol of what we as Christians should follow. This young boy has his arms wide open and spread apart. It seems as if he is trying to embrace/enter something. Perhaps he is trying to prove to us the kind of faith he has. The welcoming arms show that he must have some sort of faith in order to be so willing to have them so open. This correlates well with Ch. 12 and 19. You need to have faith if you want to enter the Kingdom and this boy surely has faith which in this case is the amazing amount of openness within his arms.

  1. Too often, one's arms are wrapped around themselves--in an effort to remedy the difficulties plaguing their life at the moment, people provide themselves with what little comfort they can summon within themselves, believing in the supposed power of self-medication, bottling feelings, keeping a straight face. In holding ourselves together, we close ourselves off from the love, support, and faith others harbor solely for us. Rather than allowing our pain to remain a secret, we must permit others to love us by letting them know of our suffering--extend your arms so that they may meet those of another.
